PROFESSIONAL TEACHING EXPERIENCE

EE Oliver Elementary School                                                                                      September 2011 – June 2013

  •        taught a grade 2 class of 20-22 students 
  •         created and revised a five IPP’s and one Behavioral Support Plan
  •        wrote report cards for all three assessment periods
  •        organized and ran an art club for students in grade 2-6 that ran one evening a week for 1.5 hours with the assistance of one coworker and a local high school student (work hours)
  •        assisted two coworkers to organize an anti-bullying t-shirt logo contest and t-shirt selling fundraiser
  •        assisted two coworkers to organize and practice two songs for our students to sing at the Christmas concert
  •        assisted in running afterschool sports programming including volleyball, floor hockey and basketball, including our annual Slam Jam (basketball) tournament

  • organized and completed a student teacher project entailing a popcorn sale with monetary fund’s donated to the Canadian Red Cross Foundation
  • collaborated with mentor teacher to plan and assess units in Language Arts, Physical Education, Religion and Mathematics and additional lesson in Health, Social, Science, and Art
  • collaborated with the Robotics teacher to teach 2-3 classes of Robotics to all three grade 4 classes

Pi Beta Phi Women's Fraternity                                                                             January 2010 – December 2010

  • organized and held interviews, using email, in person, and skype, for potential candidates for various positions within the fraternity
  • delegated to 4 additional committee members
  • primary organizer of R.E.A.D. (Really Extremely Awesome Day) Literacy Fair, a day long fair for students grades 1-6 to raise awareness of literary problems within our communities and to allow children to explore literature through station work. I delegated to 63 active members of Pi Beta Phi Women`s Fraternity to instruct and supervise students at each stations.
  •  primary organizer for Stuff Your Face for Literacy Bake Sale in which proceeds go towards Arrow in the Arctic, a foundation that donates books to schools in the Arctic
